from BC Magazine.
The editor was kind enough to choose the most flattering photo I sent with the press release - and the Yuan Yang writer wrote far catchier prose than I could manage on my own.
Then again I suppose that's why s/he writes the Yuan Yang section, and I don't!

Photo shoot for ReviewAsia Magazine
....yes, that's me!
Thanks to Victor for this fabulous image; it's "lovelier than life".
The makeup artist also did a great job, and had his work cut out for him: he darkened/smoothed my face that's gone all spotted from Southeast Asian sun in the past few years (though R. was kind enough to say "I'm glad to see your 'real face' is back" once I'd taken off the makeup).
ReviewAsia is a new magazine that's gotten a great start: they're distributed on Philippine Airlines First Class, are sold in several Asian countries, and will soon be available in Taiwan.
You can see the Bentley logo, in soft focus, on the steering wheel (right-hand drive, of course, as we're in Hong Kong). Never did I imagine I'd get anywhere near a Bentley, let alone get to sit in one!

As a break from the lovely ladies this week, a little something different: my simplistic version of the proposed mural at Holy Trinity high school, Shek Ip Mei.
This is a composite image of students' individual drawings. The final image will be much different, with many other elements, including a 3-d tuck shop.
We will have more mural workshops over the next two weeks. More photos as they happen.

This is a recent drawing to test paper for the scanner and a map project. I stained the edges first with tea to see how it'd age the paper.
It's drawn/painted onto & "silk"-fiber paper.
I don't sketch with pencils beforehand, just start off with the brush-pen, so work with the inevitable idiosyncrasies as they appear.

Though afternoon dragonboat races were cancelled, the Cyan Studio party went on for an hour past the posted time of 6pm.
Noah mixed up some mean Cyanotype cocktails with Blue Curacao, vodka, lemon & lime cordials, and fresh citrus.

This Sunday's the Open Studio party at my rooftop workplace, so I drew a small map this week.
Hopefully, visitors will find it easy to follow the path from the pier to my 2nd-floor studio, then to the beach beyond after a cocktail or two.
Wondering how to get there?
Follow the path from the pier, follow Main Street for a few hundred meters.
Take a left onto Back Street. It's on your right-hand side next to Dollarful Realty. If you've passed Best Kebab on your left, you've gone too far.
